£5.75 Million for Child Injured in Motorway Crash

A girl who suffered horrific injuries in a motorway accident when she was two years old has been awarded £5.75 million in compensation. The crash happened on the M1 when a van struck the back of the car in which the girl’s family were travelling. John Robinson, the girl's father, lost control of the car and it ploughed into the central reservation.

The whole family were injured in the accident, but Jade Robinson was by far the worst affected and at one point her parents feared for her life. She suffered severe brain injuries and was left with serious cognitive deficits which have impaired her ability to learn. She has regular epileptic fits, is partially deaf and has problems with her sight. As a result of these injuries, she is unable to walk any distance and requires 24-hour care.

The van driver's insurers accepted liability for the accident and agreed to pay £5.75 million in compensation. The family have already received an interim payment which has allowed them to move to a new home more suitable for Jade's needs.
